Career Partner - Product Manager - Project Manager
I left Lebanon with one suitcase and a lot of uncertainty. No mapped-out plan, no five-year roadmap. Just an instinct that staying still was more dangerous than moving into the unknown. What followed was five years of building myself, piece by piece, across countries, setbacks, and a few moments I would not wish on anyone.
There were stretches of real depression. A pandemic that froze the world just as I was finding my footing. A natural disaster in the city I had fallen in love with. A war touching my homeland from thousands of miles away. A job market that kept saying no. An automated system that rejected my application before a human ever read it.
Between the setbacks, I was building obsessively. A master's degree in technology and engineering management, written in Spain, with a thesis on AI before it became everyone's talking point. Certifications stacked with intention. Months spent studying hundreds of job descriptions. Not to copy them, but to understand exactly what the market needed and how to speak that language authentically.
I became obsessed with growth. Self-coaching. Writing as both a creative and professional discipline. Productivity as a daily practice. New tools adopted until they became part of how I operate.

This policy explains what personal information Lodestar collects, how we use it, and your rights over it, in plain language and in compliance with Lebanese Law No. 81 of 2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and, where applicable, the GDPR.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Lodestar Careers ("Lodestar Careers," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you visit our website at lodestarcareers.co, create an account, book a consultation, subscribe to our free guides, or use any of our services.
We are based in Beirut, Lebanon, and primarily subject to Lebanese Law No. 81 of 2018 on Electronic Transactions and Personal Data. Because we also serve clients in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA), we take into account the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when handling the personal data of those users.

2. Who We Are and Scope of This Policy
Lodestar Careers is a career coaching and services platform operated by Rayan Khattar as a sole operator. We provide resume writing and CV optimization, LinkedIn profile optimization, career coaching (1:1 sessions), interview preparation and job search strategy, career roadmap consulting (pre-hire and post-hire phases), cover letter writing, personal branding, and Notion productivity consultancy.
This Privacy Policy applies to visitors to our website, users who create an account, individuals who book consultations via Calendly, individuals who submit forms on our website (contact forms, booking forms, free guides sign-up), and clients who engage with us for paid services.

4. Personal Data We Collect
4.1 Data You Provide Directly
Account and authentication data (Supabase): email address and hashed password.
Booking data (Calendly): name, email address, preferred time slot and time zone, and responses to pre-booking questions (current career situation, service of interest, goals).
Free guides sign-up: name, email address, and information about which guides you downloaded.
Contact and booking forms: name, email address, country or region (if requested), service(s) of interest, and any free-text messages you choose to send.
Service delivery data: when you engage us for paid services, you may share your CV, employment history, education, skills, achievements, career goals, preferences, notes from sessions, and documents we prepare or edit for you.
4.2 Data Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, we may automatically collect limited technical data such as IP address, browser type and version, device type and operating system, and pages visited with time, date, and referring URL.
4.3 Data from Third Parties
We may receive booking details from Calendly, payment confirmation data (name, email, transaction ID, amount) from Wise, PayPal, Stripe, or Whish Money, and email delivery status information from Resend.
5. Why We Process Your Personal Data
To provide our services: creating and managing your account, scheduling and holding sessions, reviewing and editing your documents, delivering free guides, and responding to inquiries. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legitimate interests.
To communicate with you: sending booking confirmations, reminders, service updates, and support responses. Legal basis: performance of a contract, legitimate interests, and where required, consent.
To send relevant content: sending the free PDF guides you requested and occasional updates about new services or resources. You can opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe link or emailing guide@lodestarcareers.co. Legal basis: consent and legitimate interests.
To improve our services: analysing website usage in aggregate form and improving coaching methods based on anonymised information. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
To comply with legal obligations: maintaining records for accounting, tax, and legal compliance. Legal basis: compliance with legal obligations.
6. How We Store and Protect Your Data
We use the following third-party providers: Supabase (user authentication and data storage, US-based), Calendly (booking management, US-based), Resend (transactional email, using EU-region infrastructure where applicable), Cloudflare (hosting, DNS, edge Workers, global infrastructure), and Wise, PayPal, Stripe, and Whish Money (payment processing).
We implement hashed passwords via Supabase authentication, HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, and limit access to personal data to the founder and operator only. Despite these measures, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. International Data Transfers
Because we are based in Lebanon and use service providers in the United States and the EU, your personal data may be transferred across borders. For EU/EEA users, we aim to ensure adequate protection applies by relying on data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, and technical measures such as encryption. 8. How Long We Keep Your Data
Account data: kept while your account is active. Deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period following an account deletion request.
Consultation and service data: kept for the duration of our engagement and up to 3 to 5 years afterwards for record-keeping and dispute purposes, unless you request earlier deletion and no legal obligations require continued retention.
Lead magnet and mailing list data: kept until you unsubscribe or we no longer need to send you communications.
Technical logs: kept for a limited period for security and maintenance purposes.
9. How We Share Your Personal Data
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
We may share your data with service providers (Supabase, Calendly, Resend, Cloudflare, Wise, PayPal, Stripe, Whish Money) who process data on our behalf only as necessary to provide their services to us, with professional and legal advisors when legally required, and with authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.
10. Your Rights
Under Lebanese Law No. 81 of 2018, you may have the right to access, rectify, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use strictly necessary cookies for security and core site functions (such as Cloudflare security cookies and session cookies). Lodestar Careers offers career coaching and related services including: reviewing and optimising CVs and LinkedIn profiles, providing guidance on personal branding and professional positioning, preparing cover letters and supporting documents, coaching on interview skills and job search strategies, advising on career roadmaps and transitions, and offering productivity consultancy using tools such as Notion.
Services are delivered remotely via video calls, voice calls, email correspondence, and document exchange platforms as agreed with you.
6. No Guarantees of Employment
Lodestar Careers provides guidance, coaching, and support to help you pursue your career goals. We do not guarantee that you will secure a specific job, promotion, or salary. We do not act as an employment agency or recruiter. Your results depend on multiple factors beyond our control, including your own efforts, qualifications, market conditions, and decisions made by third parties such as employers and recruiters.
7. No Professional Legal, Financial, or Therapeutic Advice
The content and services provided by Lodestar Careers are for informational and coaching purposes only. We do not provide legal, financial, tax, medical, or psychological advice. Nothing on the Website or in our sessions should be considered a substitute for advice from qualified professionals in those fields.
8. User Accounts and Security
To access certain features, you may need to create an account via our authentication system (currently Supabase). You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately at guide@lodestarcareers.co if you suspect unauthorised access.
9. Booking, Cancellations, and Rescheduling
Free consultations: you may book a free initial consultation via Calendly. These consultations are intended to understand your situation and determine which services, if any, are suitable. We reserve the right to accept or decline any engagement at our discretion.
Cancellations and rescheduling by you: please do so at least 24 hours before the scheduled time using the link provided or by contacting guide@lodestarcareers.co. For paid sessions, cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be treated as a used session at our discretion, with no refund for that session.
Cancellations by us: in rare cases we may need to cancel or reschedule (for example, due to illness). We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and offer to reschedule or, if a paid session cannot be rescheduled within a reasonable time, discuss alternative arrangements.
10. Fees, Payments, and Refunds
Fees: communicated on the Website and/or directly to you during or after a consultation. We will agree fees before starting any paid work.
Payment methods: Wise (bank transfer), Whish Money (local transfer), PayPal, and Stripe (card payments, where available). You are responsible for any fees charged by your payment provider.
Payment terms: unless otherwise agreed, payment is due in advance of service delivery, either in full or in agreed instalments. We may choose not to start or continue work until payment is received.
Refunds: no refunds are offered for sessions or work already delivered. If you have paid for multiple sessions or a package and decide not to use all remaining sessions, we may at our discretion offer a pro rata refund for unused sessions, provided you notify us at least 24 hours before the next booked session. If we are unable to deliver agreed services due to reasons solely attributable to us, we will discuss options including rescheduling or a partial refund where appropriate. Nothing in this section affects any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.
11. Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information about your background and goals, actively participate in sessions and complete any agreed tasks, use your own judgment when deciding whether to act on advice, and comply with any reasonable instructions relating to scheduling and communication. You remain responsible for your own decisions, actions, and outcomes.
12. Intellectual Property
Our materials: all content on the Website, and the frameworks, methods, templates, and tools we use in delivering services ("Lodestar Materials"), are owned or licensed by Lodestar Careers and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Lodestar Materials.
Client deliverables: when we create or significantly customise documents specifically for you (for example, your CV, cover letter, or personal branding content) in connection with a paid engagement, upon full payment you receive ownership of those deliverables for your personal and professional use. We retain ownership of the underlying frameworks, structures, and templates used to create them.
Testimonials: with your consent, we may use anonymised or first-name-only testimonials for marketing purposes. You may withdraw consent for future use at any time by contacting us.
13. Confidentiality and Privacy
We treat information you share with us as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy, as required by law, or with your explicit consent. You agree not to share non-public information about our methods or proprietary materials without our prior consent.
